Finnlines in drive to lower age of its fleet

HELSINKI-based Finnlines has turned to the Chinese Jinling shipyard for its next newbuilding phase. The company has ordered six ice-class ro-ro vessels from the yard, each of which will have a speed of around 20 knots and a cargo capacity of 3,200 lane metres, for around €240m ($338m). Delivery is scheduled to take place between 2010 and 2011.
