First steps Oil may pacify troubled waters
A South Korean worker of SK Energy waves as a South Korean ship, Han Chang, carrying heavy oil, leaves for North Korea from a port in Ulsan yesterday. The delivery is expected to prompt the communist North to shut its only working nuclear reactor in a landmark first step toward dismantling its atomic bomb programme. International Atomic Energy Agency monitors left for North Korea following the shipment to verify the pledge by Pyongyang to abandon the programme, the United Nations nuclear watchdog agency said yesterday.
