Mangalore disaster Storm claims three
Three crew members died and 21 were rescued when the general cargo vessel Denden (8,626 dwt, built-1977) partially sank during high winds off India’s Mangalore coast at the weekend. “The winds led to the vessel drifting from its original position and being thrown towards the shore,” Dakshina Kannada, district superintendent of Police Dayanand, told reporters. The vessel was on its way to Dubai when the storms broke.
