Polar position Transocean eyes new tours
Bremen cruise operator Transocean Tours has chartered in the 22,080 gt Marco Polo, replacing its current charter vessel Arielle from next year. The Marco Polo was built in 1965 and is currently operating for Orient Lines. Having ice class, the Marco Polo would also open new cruise regions such as Greenland and the Antarctic. The vessel was sold recently to an undisclosed buyer ? it was the last cruiseship of NCL subsidiary Orient Lines. A spokesman for Transocean Tours underlined that the company had not acquired the ship but chartered it from Global Cruise.
