CHP plant cash boost
ConocoPhillips is to invest £210m ($408m) in expanding the capacity of its Immingham combined heat and power plant from 730 MW to 1,180 MW. This would make Immingham CHP one of the world’s largest power stations and an additional source of low-carbon heat and power for the UK, says the company. Commercial operation is expected to start summer 2009.
