Repair work scaled back, court told
The French court hearing the Erika trial was told yesterday that the amount of steel plating required to carry out major repairs on the vessel in the summer of 1998 was massively reduced in a deliberate attempt to cut back the bill to be paid by its owner, writes Andrew Spurrier in Paris .
