Las Palmas lines up plans to be key Atlantic axis

THROUGHPUT is expected to top 1.5m teu in 2006, which is up on the mid-year forecasts of a 5% increase in volumes. But at the start of summer it was still uncertain how trade would hold up. Volumes in 2005 were up 8% over the year before, but in the first half of the year Las Palmas handled 675,236 teu, an increase of just 2% over the same period last year.
