The RNLI, aided by the Charity Tax Reform Group, continues to lobby the British government to remove the value added tax onus in areas such as boathouse maintenance, crew training any equipment that is not related to the lifeboat itself, and fundraising and support costs, all of which is costing this admirable institution about £2.2m ($4.25m) a year.
