The flotsam and jetsam of ‘new capitalism’
WRITING just before New Year’s Eve weighs somewhat heavily in the wake of so turbulent a year. Sitting like a modern Janus contemplating a trail of wreckage, one does not have to be prescient to prophesy bad news to come, the more-so since the notion of a new year is but a construct, a single syllable of recorded time.
