MICHEL Ducros does not come from the boating or even the shipping world. His background is in the food industry — until 1992, when his family sold up, he helped run France’s largest spicemaker — but he says a love for the sea nurtured on fishing trips with his father had developed by then to the point that he had his own trawler, just for mucking about in.
