NYK Line makes a huge effort in securing the officers of the future
TOKYO-headquartered NYK expects that seaborne trade, especially in LNG transportation and containerships, will grow significantly through 2010. Given this prospect, the company plans to increase the NYK fleet, including chartered vessels, from 800 to 1,000 by 2010 and to around 1,200 by 2014. The resultant requirement: 1,400 additional fully-trained officers.
