Crane lift Blue Giant to reach up higher
The second of four semi-submersible heavylift carriers under construction at Lloyd Werft for the Danish-German venture Combi Lift has been long-term chartered by Mexico’s state-owned oil company Pemex under the name Blue Giant. The newbuilding is being equipped according to a modified crane configuration, which includes a considerable raising of the middle crane support. The 350-tonne capacity crane outrigger, which is pictured being fitted by a floating crane, will be able to reach much higher during offshore operations. The hull of the newbuilding was delivered from Poland under the name Combi Dock 2 earlier this year. Ralf Witthohn
