Striking dock workers dampen Piraeus spirit
THE Greek port of Piraeus experienced a relatively disappointing 2007, with a further downturn in container handling activity. This was largely the result of periods of labour unrest, triggered by the Piraeus Port Authority’s plans to privatise some container terminal operations in the future.
