IN AN unprecedented defence of the rule of law, the High Court has ruled that the decision of the Serious Fraud Office in December 2006 to halt an investigation into alleged corruption and bribery in BAE Systems plc’s £43bn ($85m) al-Yamamah arms deal with Saudi Arabia in 1985 was unlawful.
