Cathay secures terminal deal
CATHAY Pacific Airways has been awarded a 20-year concession to develop what could become one of the world’s largest air cargo terminals. The proposed HK$4.8bn ($615m) complex, a model of which is pictured left, will have a throughput capacity of 2.6m tonnes per year. It will occupy a 10 ha site at Hong Kong International Airport. The 246,000 sq m common user facility is due to become operational in the second half of 2011.
