Right whale, wrong sonar
EVERYBODY loves whales, although you might not want to cuddle one, and the Japanese prefer them lightly grilled with miso sauce. But the Californians love them to bits, with enthusiastic whale fanciers persuading the legislature to pass laws preventing the US Navy using their sonars when in the vicinity of the coastline, where the sagacious mammals like to swim about and occasionally take the air.
