Seizures & Arrests - December 15

Varna, Dec 15 -- General cargo Leonid Lugovoy is still detained at the port of Varna. The reason for the detention is the fact that the owners, Ukrainian Danube Shipping have still not covered their expenses for the vessel's repairs work done in Terem Shipyard, situated near to Varna. Reportedly the plaintiff/creditor is the local company Cosmos Shipping Ltd and they have tried to settle the case on amicable basis without any success. According to the information received, the vessel was indicted by local Varna Court of Appeal on Nov 20. The dispute will be settled by Arbitration tribunal of Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. -- Lloyd's Agents. (See issue of Nov 24.)
