Toxic vessels debate still rages
THE number of ships heading for recycling, most of them on the beaches of the Indian subcontinent, will reach well over 1,000 this year, the highest for several years. This trend has heightened the intensity of debates about environmental, health and safety issues involved in recycling vessels. Many of these were discussed in detail at a seminar in London last week and have been widely reported.
