THE ECOBONUS What is the pay-off really worth?
THERE has always been a certain ambivalence in Italy about the so-called ecobonus. Local shipowners have long seen this system of incentives designed to lure reluctant truckers off the country’s congested roads and onto the motorways of the sea as vital to the segment’s development. But the politicians, while speaking eloquently about the environmental and industrial benefits of moving cargo from road to sea and of encouraging it in just this way, appeared strangely reluctant to move from words to action.
