Fragile confidence

A MODEST rise in confidence levels in the shipping industry was spotted by Moore Stephens, the accounting and consulting group, in a quarterly survey released this week. But it is not yet time to sigh in relief. A tentative confidence may have returned, but ultimately the strength of that sentiment is contingent on the industry’s handling of newbuilding overcapacity.
