Four parcels up for grabs in Malta Shipyards privatisation

THE privatisation of the state-run Malta Shipyards (above) is moving ahead, with the Maltese government looking to sell off the group’s assets in four parcels — the 13 ha Marsa Shipbuilding site, with heavy steel fabrication facilities including a dry dock; the shiprepair, conversion and offshore yard with three large dry docks; Malta Super Yacht Yard, a superyacht repair facility with two dedicated docks; and Manoel Island Yacht Yard, a repair facility for smaller yachts, with slipways, refit and storage facilities.
