Port companies are ‘looking down the barrel of a gun’
LAST week it emerged that Goole-based Tsar Timber, which imports forest products from Russia, had gone into administration — faced with a rates bill of £87,000 ($142,000) per year for each of the four years from 2005. A dozen jobs have been lost, and that does not include the ripple effect on other companies with which Tsar was involved.
