Seizures & Arrests - August 13
London, Aug 13 -- General cargo Global Patriot sailed from Durban harbour, yesterday bound for Chittagong. The vessel was placed under arrest in Durban earlier this year and came under judicial auction in mid July, when she was sold to a company registered in the Marshall Islands for US$2.65 million - the sale being subject to a further payment of $552,000 for 1,200 tons of bunker fuel on board. It is not certain whether the ship is heading for the breakers yard or to resume trading. (See issue of Jul 30.)
