KLAAS Reinigert, who turns 70 in September, has strong views about the way the salvage industry is becoming risk averse, and is an outspoken critic of shipowners and their insurers who invariably go for the cheapest solution. That prevents the necessary long-term investment in salvage equipment and expertise, he has said on many occasion.
