Fires & Explosions - July 17
London, Jul 17 -- A press report, dated today, states: Five Brazilian shipyard workers were today recovering from injuries caused by an explosion which killed a co-worker. The blast at the Control Shipyard in Niteroi yesterday was caused by a spark that ignited gases on board a barge, sources said. The explosion touched off a fire, but three fire engines quickly put it out. The local company Hidroclean was cleaning up a small oil spill caused by the blast, sources in Rio de Janeiro said. Alianca, a larger yard next to Control that mostly specialises in repairs, had all its windows blown out, the sources said.
