Isreal LNG import terminal tender opens
ISRAEL is seeking tenders for an offshore liquefied natural gas import terminal with an annual processing capacity of 4bn cu m. The pre-qualification document issued by Israel’s finance and national infrastructure ministries calls for the design, financing, construction and operation of the regasification terminal. The project will be executed through a build-operate-transfer agreement for a minimum of 20 years and maximum of 30 years. At the termination of the concession and license period, the receiving terminal is to be transferred to the state “at no cost”. The document calls for “experience in the design, construction and operation” of an offshore LNG receiving terminal or “ownership and experience” in the operation of one or more LNG carriers in international waters. The deadline for pre-qualification submissions is September 15.
