Capesize spirits fail to be lifted by Vale and Tinto fixes
WITH Brazilian iron ore miner Vale joining Australia’s Rio Tinto in the capesize fixing stakes last week, owners had hoped the combined efforts of both charterers would give some lift to charter rates. But owners were disappointed, as capesize rates continued to slide, writes Keith Wallis.
