In the red Allianz losses pile up to hit €2.4bn
GERMAN insurer Allianz has reported a loss of €2.4bn ($3bn) for 2008, reflecting high writedowns on the proceeds from its loss-making banking subsidiary Dresdner, which it sold to Commerzbank last year, writes Herbert Fromme in Munich.
