THE three lighthouse authorities responsible for navigational safety round the British Isles should be merged, a poll of Lloyd’s List readers found. Of the 200 respondents to an online question, 75% voted in favour of amalgamating Trinity House, which is responsible for navigational aids in English and Welsh waters, the Northern Lighthouse Board for Scotland and the Commissioners for Irish Lights.
