Gas Market Report: 29 January 2009
NORTH WEST EUROPE: Large Cargoes: The North Sea propane market has tightened up on the back of production cutbacks, exports still heading out of the area and the continuing demand from the terminals as cold weather lingers. Even an import into the area has not freed up enough tons to supply the demand for cargoes in the first half of Feb and even up to the 20th and possibly even month end. At least two cargoes have been taken by one buyer as soon as they appeared and the price they paid of $490 and $500 where quickly eclipsed by the demand for handy size cargoes with one traded at $545 and another still being required.
