Sperry Marine reveals the next generation
SIXTY years in marine radar technology were celebrated last year by Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit, which has sold over 150,000 sets. A number of key developments cited by the company and its precursors include the first true motion radar (1956), the first anti-collision radar (1968), the first type-approved colour radar (1982) and the first computer-controlled automatic clutter suppression system (1998).
