Correction: Brightoil Legend

IN an article headlined “Three Iranian VLCCs suspected of ship to ship transfers named” (Lloyd’s List, November 9) we identified Brightoil Legend as being suspected of involvement in taking oil of Iranian origin by ship-to-ship transfer from one or more Iranian vessels off Malaysia, as part of scheme to blend oil of Iranian origin for eventual sale to customers in the western hemisphere who were oblivious to the fact that the product started out as Iranian oil. On further investigation, we have ascertained that our reference to Brightoil Legend was in error. Brightoil Legend was not involved. We apologise to the owners and managers of Brightoil Legend for any embarrassment or inconvenience that our article may have caused.
