Ports slow to get taste for fresh produce opportunities
For the past few years the UK has annually consumed around 8m tonnes of fresh produce — it was one of the few cargo sectors that remained fundamentally unaffected by the recession, prompting many shipping lines and logistics providers to increase their fresh produce handling capabilities in the face of declining volumes and revenues in other sectors
