Hartford, Lincoln bailouts attacked
NEIL BAROFSKY (pictured), the special inspector general (SIG) for the US Treasury’s Troubled Asset Relief Programme (TARP) has criticised the Treasury for permitting insurers Hartford Financial Services and Lincoln Financial to qualify for TARP bailout funding by acquiring small savings banks.
