THE LLOYD’S MARKET ASSOCIATION (LMA) is hopeful that it can persuade the UK government to back European Commission proposals to strengthen arbitration agreements, which could bring an end to the uncertainty that has plagued insurers surrounding use of jurisdiction in cross-border disputes since a European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling two years ago.
